For the last few years we have provided coaching sessions for a range of schools located on the county boundary, as a part of the ‘Proper County Boundary Coaching’. These sessions are funded by Yorkshire Ridings Society, the North Riding Society and the Saddleworth White Rose Society, all of which are campaign groups who lobby for better understanding of the traditional and proper Yorkshire County boundary based on the Ridings.
There were three sessions in total; one for girls from Thornaby Academy and MacMillan Academy, Middlesbrough. Another was for a Deaf group from Hanson Academy, Bradford, with the coaching facilitated by British Sign Language interpreters. The third was for four county boundary schools, from Saddleworth School, Settlebeck School (Sedbergh), Nunthorpe Academy (Middlesbrough) and Todmorden High. We were delighted to hear the positive feedback reported back from all of the parties involved, the coaches definitely found the sessions rewarding to deliver!
“Saddleworth had a fabulous day once again. Thank you so much for facilitating this!”
“The match went really well and the kids really enjoyed it. Same again next year please!” – Settlebeck
